About a 1.5 hour\u00a0drive down Interstate 5 and we were at Legoland California, a\u00a0much anticipated destination.<\/p><\/div>\n

Legoland is a combination of an extensive array of lego models, \u00a0and a series lego-themed rides. \u00a0We started with the models. \u00a0So much lego; so skillfully\u00a0assembled.<\/p><\/div>\n

Haaaa! \u00a0\ud83d\ude00<\/p><\/div>\n

I became almost desensitised to the intricacy and cleverness of all the models, because there were just so many of them. \u00a0Being a Lego designer must be such a cool and sought-after\u00a0job.<\/p><\/div>\n

These guys and rollercoasters. \u00a0Once again, Nate wasn’t keen so he and I went on a Bionicles ride. \u00a0We finally managed to convince Nate to go on the milder Dragon rollercoaster, and he loved it in spite of himself!<\/p><\/div>\n

This ride ought to be renamed ‘The Stomach Churner’.<\/p><\/div>\n

There was a temporary exhibition of the actual basement set that was used in the Lego Movie. \u00a0It had been transported down from LA for display at Legoland.<\/p><\/div>\n

We spent half the day at Legoland, half the day at the waterpark. \u00a0The water park had a seriously cool ride called the Pirate Reef. \u00a0You ride a boat down a flume into a massive wall of water and get thoroughly drenched. \u00a0It was probably our favourite ride as a family.<\/p><\/div>\n

By the end of the day, Erin was actually feeling really unwell. \u00a0We suspect the rhythmic motion of the wave pool combined with a Legoland hamburger might have had something to do with it. \u00a0She still managed to produce a smile for her Lego Friends peeps. \u00a0We stayed until closing time, spent an inordinate amount of time in the Legoland Store, then headed back up the coast, debuting another food outlet on the way – the Flamebroiler.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
