Long before we knew we were coming to the USA, Brenna had by faith put us on her annual family membership for the Oregon Zoo – so it was excellent that we actually made it there! \u00a0Zoos are the best.<\/p><\/div>\n

We most enjoyed the part of the zoo dedicated to the American Northwest.<\/p><\/div>\n

This cougar was not cooperating with my photography. Nevertheless, what a beautiful beast – and much bigger than we had imagined.<\/p><\/div>\n

According to Brenna, we had to try the ‘elephant’s ears’ they sold at the zoo. Good advice. They’re basically like flat cinnamon donuts, and they’re HUGE (and yummy). Two between the nine of us was plenty.<\/p><\/div>\n

The fact that we have dozens of lorikeets living in and around our front yard in Australia didn’t deter us from visiting the lorikeet enclosure.
